Remembrance Day celebrated in the Nursery

In the busy run up to the festive season Remembrance Day seems to be one of the few moments where we take time to stop and reflect on what has been and what is to come.    For our little ones, remembrance is about happy moments shared with family, friends or in school.  Mrs Scott writes that their simple outlook on life, from playing in the park, to cuddles and kisses or baking cakes, certainly makes her as an adult reflect and think about what matters most.  The youngest members of the school community gathered together in their entrance hall, painted poppies laid, candles lit and hands held in friendship, and on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month stood quietly for two minutes listening to the Last Post.  The silence said so much more than words In that moment, looking at the little girls and knowing that there is so much good that lies ahead for all of us.
