Year 7 visit to Cosmeston and Caerphilly

On 27th November, Year 7 visited Cosmeston Medieval Village and Caerphilly Castle to learn about life for rich and poor during the Middle Ages. At Cosmeston, a few lucky volunteers got their hands dirty kneading bread and we tried on armour to whether we could move as knights and fighting villeins would have had to!
The weather deteriorated at Caerphilly, but we had a great time exploring the nooks and crannies of the castle and had fun in the castle servants’ experience. We learnt that blood was mixed to create a rich red wall paint, along with some even nastier ingredients for a yellow hue!
The teachers were complimented on the behaviour of their groups – thanks for a great day, Year 7!
