Many congratulations to Meredith L. J. (Year 12) on her recent success in karate. She took it up following the "Resolve It" sessions at school, and is still taught at her club by former Howell's teacher and pupil Eira Culverwell. In a relatively short time she has moved quickly through the grades and, just before Christmas, gained her green belt. This latest grading even involved a display of the ability to break roof tiles with her bare hands! No one else in her family has any involvement in martial arts and we have been hugely impressed by the physical stamina and mental effort involved in learning this skill. Well done, Meredith!
