On Tuesday 2nd February 2016 Mrs Wilks and Mrs House were delighted to welcome Year 11 students, both from Howell’s and from local schools, to our College Careers Countdown speed-networking event. We also welcomed professionals from a variety of backgrounds:

· Ms Rebecca John: Journalism and Media
· Dr Tony Olavesen: Medicine and Science
· Mr Clive Thomas: Law
· Ms Sarah Wilkins: IT Management and Business
The event began at 4pm when guests were treated to a selection of magnificent mocktails in the Day Room. At 4.30pm students and professionals moved into the Great Hall where the speed-networking took place. Students spent ten minutes at six tables and each table was hosted by a professional. Students were able to find out about the world of work and opportunities available for them. We are very grateful to all the professionals who gave up their time to join us for the evening. Thank you to all the staff who organised such a successful event.
