Year 7 take part in second round of Spelling Bee: February 2016

Year 7 girls have just taken part in the second heat of the Year 7 National Languages Spelling Bee. They competed in French, Spanish and Welsh in their lessons and in German through German Club. A maximum of five students per language are able to go through to the final school round in April. Two will then be selected to represent each language in the National Finals. The competition is designed to be both fun and demanding! Each competitor had to compete against the clock to translate and spell as many words as possible in one minute from the 100-word list. All the girls participating had worked very hard to learn their vocabulary. The competition was fierce and the results were close.

Congratulations to the second round winners (another 50 words to learn, making 150 in total!) and good luck in the next round.
