Nursery News

Welcome back!  We have been sharing stories about our Easter holiday adventures.  We celebrated the Sikh festival Vaisakhi together with Harkiran and her mum.  We had lots of fun trying on the traditional costumes from India and found India on the globe.

During Forest school we found Harry Hedgehog and his family in the Green Garden. They have been hibernating through the winter.  We had to look very carefully for them because they were well camouflaged.  Miss Thomas said her tortoise has just woken up too from his winter sleep and we are all very excited because he will be paying us a visit in the next few weeks.

We have been learning the sound ’v’ this week and during cookery we talked about healthy snacks.  We read the story ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ and just like Oliver in the story we all tried the vegetables.  We talked about the importance of washing our hands before cookery and learnt how to hold the knives and chop the vegetables carefully for our snack time.  We also became volcanic scientists and created our very own volcanos in class.
