Year 7 started their Career pathway in their designated WOW Day (World of Work). Mrs Chyba introduced the day with an introduction to the qualities needed in the workplace as demonstrated by Winnie the Pooh and friends. Our students readily recognised teamwork, leadership and going the extra mile. Mrs Karen Kimura, our skills development officer from Trust Office brought together thoughts about developing personal qualities to add value in the workplace. The students used ipads to research their own attributes. Throughout the day Year 7 worked with energy to produce great presentations about a wide range of careers.
Ellora M and Georgia K commented: "We found this experience enjoyable as it gave us good advice on what job to apply for by evaluating our personal qualities. We enjoyed team-building exercises with new people that we don't know that well. We took a quiz that told us what to be as an adult and gave us advice on it."
