Howell's College football team launched the 2015/16 season with an away friendly against Stanwell. Considering it was their first fixture all of the squad put in a very good performance against a well-drilled Stanwell 11. In goal Henry made some outstanding saves and more than filled the shoes of former first-choice keeper Jonny. At the back James, James, James, Jo and Abid did their best against adverse wind conditions and managed to contain the Stanwell attack for much of the game. In the midfield Alex H. dominated and was the key playmaker, ably assisted by the ever steady Titus, tenacious Connor, and recent convert Ashford. Up front Alex and John always looked dangerous. The score line didn't fully reflect that Howell’s was clearly the better side, but we live to fight another day.
