Year 1's trip to the Post Office

The Year 1 girls have been very busy writing letters to go home to their parents. They worked out the different ways they could make 54p, for a second class stamp, using real money, and they counted the coins out carefully into their purses. Then, on Tuesday 6th October in the afternoon sunshine, they set off for the Post Office in Llandaff High Street. They discussed how the environment changed on the journey from school to Llandaff and were able to collect a few conkers on thier way through Llandaff Fields.

Once at the Post Office the girls each took their turn to ask for a stamp, hand over their money and then post their letter into the post box as they sent their letter on its journey to their house. The girls were very excited and we hope their parents enjoy reading their beautifully-written letters. Thank you so much to the girls' mothers who accompanied the class and the post mistress at Llandaff Post Office for being so patient.
