On Wednesday 25th November, 12 girls from Years 5-6 and 12 girls from Years 7-9 participated in the second ever ski race as part of the Cardiff Games. This was a competition aimed at recreational skiers of all abilities, including novice skiers with just 6 hours of training. After a good warm-up, the skiers completed timed runs on the slalom course with the fastest run to count. Medals were awarded for individual boys and girls.

We are always looking for new skiers of all abilities to join our ski team and give slalom a go. There is a wide range of lessons running at Cardiff Ski and Snowboard Centre in Fairwater (tel: 029 20 561793) from advanced slalom and race training to beginners courses. Our next competition will be the Cardiff and South East Wales Schools' Slalom Competition in the Summer Term. We will be aiming to enter several teams of different abilities.
