HOCKEY
The Year 10/11 Hockey team played Plasmawr away on 23rd November in what was an excellent performance from the Howell’s team, despite player numbers being a little low! At half time, Howell’s were 3-0 up with goals from Jessica B (Year 11), Ellie L (Year 10) and Hannah RS (Year 11). The final score was 5-2 to Howell’s, well done to all the girls who played!
Year 9 hockey players have just returned from a 3-day GDST Hockey Tour in Bath. They finished 2nd out of the 16 schools in attendance and played very, very well! All other schools and staff were very complimentary of the team's hockey-playing, as well as their behaviour throughout the weekend. Congratulations to all the girls: Nia H, Pascha T, Lily R, Sophie S, Katie G, Ella K, Evie O, Jess J, Sophie G, Issy W, Robyn D, Annabelle W and Georgia M-P.
Year 10/11 Hockey played Whitchurch away on 28th November 2016. The girls played a first class performance: at half time the score was 0-0 but in the second half Howell’s were determined and scored 4 goals! Charlotte J (Year 11) and Katie G (Year 9) scored two goals each. Final score was 4-0 to Howell’s. Congratulations to all the girls who played!
DODGEBALL
Last week the whole of Year 9 played inter-house dodgeball on Thursday 24th November in what was an intense combination of matches. Congratulations to Trotter 1 who won the overall tournament, Lewis 1 came 2nd, Baldwin 1 came 3rd, Kendall 1 came 4th, 5th was a draw between Trotter 2 and Baldwin 2, 6th was Lewis 2 and 7th was Kendall 2.
NETBALL
Year 7 and 9 Netball teams played Ysgol Glantaf on Monday 28th November and Tuesday 29th November in what was an expected high level of match play. The girls worked hard on skills they had been working on in training and used some great square and straight passing tactics to create better opportunities in their game. The girls enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot from the game. Well done to all the girls who played and to Sophie D and Sommer B (Year 8), and Jess J and Georgia MP (Year 9) for achieving POM.
ROWING
Lucy C (Year 9) competed in the Welsh Indoor Rowing Championships on Saturday and gained a Silver medal in her race! Well done Lucy!
FENCING
Louise S (Year 11) had a great time fencing in Grenoble this weekend. Louise will be in Copenhagen with the GB squad in two weeks. We wish her all the best in the run for Luxembourg in January!
